J.D.V.M.College is a 103 years old and renowned girls’ educational Institution established in year 1919 by Smt. Jwala Devi  in the city of Kanpur. The degree section was established in the year 1963. The Degree College has completed its 63 years of establishment and is imparting education to female students at U.G. and P.G. level and is Accredited by NAAC with grade B (2.60 CGPA) in the year 2010.  As per UGC stipulation, New Education Policy (NEP) is introduced in for all U. G. & P.G. students. The institution is offering some need based courses on Income Tax Procedure & Practice, Post Graduation Diploma in Computer Application,  in  addition to the conventional subjects. Right now, the  institution is offering 17  U. G.  Programmes  in B.A. and  B. Com and five P. G. Programmes.The institution is recognized Research Centre by C.S.J.M. University Kanpur for offering research programmes leading to quality of learning. The NSS unit and the Physical Education unit help to make the students healthy and conscious of their responsibilities towards the community and the Nation at large. In all its efforts to impart quality education, the institution takes special care of disadvantaged groups, slow learners and differently-abled students by providing remedial classes and other facilities. A conducive atmosphere for teaching, learning and research is provided by the institution by way of supporting infrastructure and learning resources. Right now, the institution has strength of about approx. 1000 students covering all sections of the society. The institution takes necessary care to see that there are no instances of sexual harassment and ragging on the campus.    The cultural & moral values, perfect self-discipline, a feeling of pride for our nation is inculcated among students and faculty through daily prayer, performing of Vedic Rites at the commencement of every celebration.
